Currency: Danish Krone (DKR) = 100 øre. Notes are in denominations of DKR1000, 500, 200, 100 and 50. Coins are in denominations of DKR20, 10, 5, 2 and 1, and 50 and 25 øre.
Currency exchange: There are plenty of ATMs. Personal cheques cannot be used by visitors to Denmark. Some banks may refuse to exchange large foreign bank notes.
Credit & Debit cards: American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted, as well as Eurocheque cards. Check with your credit or debit Card Company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.
Travellers cheques: Can be cashed by banks and hotels, and can be used at most restaurants and shops. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travelers are advised to take travelers cheques in Euros, Pounds Sterling or US Dollars. |
